In April of 2014 I weighed 303lbs, then my friend introduced me to Crossfit and it totally changed my life. Fast forward to present day and I am down 85lbs, feeling great and back in the studio making music doing what I love. I was so inspired by my change that I even created a song called "A Better Me (Keep Pushing)" that acts as a reminder to me that I can never give up. I have a brand new album called "Underground With Commercial Appeal" that features Guilty Simpson, Skyzoo, Torae, Chi-Ali, Sadat X & more. The album is really Hot and I can't wait to release it but I decided to not release it until I reach 199lbs. I came up a few pounds short of reaching my goals on my last 3 challenges so this time I plan to get it done, hopefully by August. I will be releasing weekly episodes to keep myself accountable and also weigh myself every Monday Morning via my Instagram, Twitter & facebook accounts. @Fokeezy
In 2002 I released a 12" single called "What's My Name" produced by Charlemagne (Jay-Z, Mary J Blige, Natural Elements). The single did really well in the underground scene then 3 years later I added it to my debut album "More Than One Way". Originally released in 2005, the album features Kool G Rap, Killah Priest, Rahsaan Patterson, Hell Razah & more. I never shot any music videos for any tracks off that album... until now, 11 years later. As you may or may not now I will be releasing my sophomore album sometime this summer (once I get under 200lbs) called "Underground With Commercial Appeal" but for now I decided to go back to the future and whip up a visual for this decade old song. I mean Its still new to those that never heard it before, right?
After losing over 85lbs by doing crossfit & eating healthy I got re-inspired to create music and be an artist again, this time doing it my way and having fun along the way. I figured since I cant drop my new album till I get below 200lbs I should go back to my last album and bring people up to speed with my history and I feel like the video does a good job at that. The video has various cameos in it of artists such as Sean Price, Pusha T, Kanye West, G-Unit, Guru, DJ Premier and more, in the form of pictures and old footage. I still have some limited edition vinyl available for purchase HERE, that was pressed in 2002 as well as limited edition CDs of the More Than One Way album HERE. You can also listen to the single/album on Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music and all other digital retail outlets. Shout out to all my Boom Bap Hip-Hop heads, Peace.
